“Like a bad penny” my mom’s old friend Sharon Lipke (formerly Sharon Slack) said about my dad. He would just keep turning up.
She was dating Frank Lipke and who knows how many others. She was the “fast” one of the group. My dad, Larry, (who they called “Joe” to differentiate him from his Uncle Larry) was at Sharon’s house and she was expecting a visit from another boy she liked, Frank Lipke. She had to get rid of “Joe” quickly. So she called my mom and sent Joe over there.
That was the beginning of my parent’s romance. They remained together for thirteen years and three children. Sharon and Frank Lipke are still married forty years later.
